A freshman Republican senator said this week he believes his party is in good shape ahead of next year’s midterm elections and that if the GOP retakes control of Congress, impeaching President Joe Biden and examining Democratic committee assignments should be prioritized.

In an interview with FM Talk 106.5 in Mobile, Alabama Sen. Tommy Tuberville said he was frustrated with House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) and her push to pass gargantuan spending bills including a $1.5 trillion infrastructure package and a $3.5 trillion social spending measure, both of which are backed by Biden.

He went on to speculate that the GOP would win back the House but would be stuck with Biden, whom he claimed was better than Vice President Kamala Harris, according to comments reported by Breitbart News.

“This will decide the direction this country is going in,” he said. “We’re going to decide next year in a lot of areas. They passed this $5 trillion, and you know, Jeff — when you start an entitlement, you can’t get out of it. They’re trying to rush this through.

“Nancy Pelosi is trying to rush it, get it signed, sealed, delivered — get it all pumped up. Where we do take the House next year — we’ll get the House for sure. We’ve got to fight like heck to get the Senate because it is a little bit harder,” Tuberville offered.

“We’re stuck with Biden for a few years, but he’s much better than that girl who is supposed to be the border czar,” Tuberville went on, in reference to Harris. “You never see her up here. You never hear from her … whoever she is.”

The GOP senator went on to say that impeaching Biden should nevertheless be considered if his party takes control of Congress. And he thinks that House and Senate leaders also ought to consider changes to Democratic committee assignments because he believes it is necessary.

“I hope we look at it,” he replied. “I hope we look at people who are on committees who have made outrageous, dangerous statements, that we kick them out of committees.”

He then made remarks about Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.), who was kicked off her committee assignments by Pelosi over past comments she made online.

“This lady has gone overboard a little bit — Marjorie Taylor Greene. She’s an American, though. She’s trying to get people to listen to her,” Tuberville said.

“But these progressives, these Marxists, Maxine Waters — some of these people have got people hurt. They need to be gone. And they need to be walking the halls, looking for somebody to talk to them,” he added.Advertisement

Calls to impeach Biden have been ringing out on Capitol Hill for months, though they accelerated after his deadly debacle-plagued pullout from Afghanistan.

In late August after a suicide bomber killed 11 Marines, two U.S. Army troops and a Navy corpsman, Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC.cosponsored articles of impeachment against Biden due to an alleged “foreign policy failure” in Afghanistan.

He said in a statement that he feels it’s time to remove Biden following his “gross negligence” that he says led to the Taliban retaking Afghanistan and which then “resulted in a grave humanitarian crisis.”

“I am heartsick at the President’s failure to fulfill his duty that has resulted in American deaths and thousands of Americans and Afghan allies being abandoned at the risk of being tortured, captured, held hostage, or killed at the hands of the Taliban or other terrorist forces,” he noted.

“It is time to take action and remove the sitting President from office due to his gross negligence that undermined our national security, led to the Taliban’s takeover of Afghanistan, and resulted in a grave humanitarian crisis,” Duncan noted further on Twitter.

Late last month, Texas GOP Rep. Chip Roy also said Biden should be impeached along with DHS Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas over the ongoing migrant crisis along the U.S.-Mexico border.

“I believe that Secretary Mayorkas and President Biden are refusing to faithfully execute the laws of the United States. We should impeach them,” Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, told Newsmax TV.
